Total roof area, total length of ridge, hips, valleys and gable ends. All the variables are accounted for: sarking, caps, special finish, fixer's rates etc. Separate report forms for client, accounts, fixer and job supervisor.

Fully dimensioned 3D representation of any roof shape - multi-hips, skillion, gables, dormers, dutch gables, verandahs, atriums and two storey. All fixtures and fittings required by the roof plumber such as flashings, downpipes, clips and screws are also accounted for in the estimate. All this is completed in metric or feet and inches (not decimal feet).

Linear Nesting of Off-cuts
The software will, taking account of relatively minor, but none-the-less quite significant criteria such as - batten thickness, sheet lap direction and lap distance, gutter overh ang and 'cribbage' around the valleys and ridge - automatically lay panels on the roof and produces a set of working drawings that combines all off-cuts with required panels.

This process we have called 'Linear Nesting' as it provides us with nested sheets as they might come off a roll forming machine. Indeed, part of the output file includes a generic output we call the 'Piece Coordinate' file which describes the nested sheet geometry. This file is an ASCII text file that may be used by any third party technology. A company associated with AppliCad Australia is currently testing a prototype marking unit that can be fitted to just about any existing roll forming machine.
